Shelly Nicotra, Founder & Owner
Shelly Burgess Nicotra founded SBN Marketing & Media LLC in 2020, after more than 25 years of working in public relations, marketing, and television production for the Emmy-award winning Lidia Bastianich of Public Television’s Lidia’s Kitchen.
Before managing the newly formed company, Tavola Productions, she managed and led tours for a high-end culinary and cultural travel program that specialized in trips to Italy. Shelly served as the Supervising Producer of 104 episodes of Public Television’s Lidia’s Italy and 52 episodes of Lidia’s Italy in America before serving as Executive Producer of over 200 episodes of the Emmy award-winning Lidia’s Kitchen. In that role, she worked with companies to place the series on both digital and international networks. She also served as Executive Producer of Food Network’s Midwestern Table, and Supervising Producer of 10 one-hour specials for PBS entitled Lidia Celebrates America.
Her Public Television experience gave her an in-depth knowledge of television production, public relations, marketing, and stations relations, due to the unique nature of the Public Television business model.

Why small-town roots to big-city experience?
Shelly grew up in a small town in West Virginia before heading to Nashville for college and then to Florence, Italy for several years, where she taught Art History. She then spent over 25 years in the New York City metro-area before heading to northern Virginia, where she loves spending quality time outdoors discovering the trails along the Potomac River to the cultural treasures of Washington, D.C.
Anne was born in West Virginia and spent her formative years living in small towns in Indiana, Maryland and Pennsylvania, before moving to the Washington, D.C. area, where she spent almost a decade in the fast-moving corporate world. She now splits her time between the charming, historic town of Alexandria, Virginia and her cabin in middle-of-nowhere West Virginia, where she feeds her soul by running, hiking, and rock climbing.
